Top 5 Best Coffee Shops in Charleston

The food scene in Charleston is more than amazing. If you’re ever in need of a pick-me-up while you’re out exploring, there are several options to choose from; although the weather can determine whether you get something iced or hot.

Coffee shops you need to visit while you’re here.

Bitty & Beau’s Coffee

This adorable coffee store is more than a coffee shop, but always seems to manage sending me off with a smile. Whether you’re grabbing coffee to dash off to your next adventure, or being able to sit and sip, this is a great place for just that.

This shop is located on Church Street, just south of the Charleston City Market at 159 Church Street.

Charleston Coffee Exchange

What I love about this coffee shop is that it still maintains the feel of a local coffee shop yet offering a phenomenal variety of roasted coffee. If there’s a blend that you’re intrigued by, why not take some home with you? Not only do they offer their blends in K-Cups as well as coffee, but there’s also the option of 2 oz. packages as well (great for gifting!).

Located down the street of the Plantation District of Charleston, at 2875 Ashley River Road, Suite 1, Charleston, SC 29414

Clerk’s Coffee Company

This inviting shop is a perfect place to hang out like a Friends episode, and whether you’re grabbing something from their Daily or Off the Clock Menus, you’re sure to be impressed by the atmosphere.

Located inside Hotel Emeline which is slightly north of the Charleston City Market at 181 Church Street

Handy & Hot

Known for its grab-and-go theme, this fresh concept is perfect for a quick bite and coffee first thing in the morning or for a mid-day break; keep in mind that it closes mid-afternoon.

What’s great is that this is central to most of downtown, with the entrance located off of Wentworth Street at The Lindy Renaissance Charleston Hotel at 68 Wentworth Street.

La Patisserie

La Patisserie is known for its chic decor and wonderful pastries, including a slice of Camellias cake. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing something to-go, their savory bites are very much a sensory delight.

With an entrance off of mid-King Street, this this French inspired cafe is part of Hotel Bennett. Located at 404 King Street
