Charleston Travel Guide
As the excitement builds as you arrive in the Holy City, I recommend getting to your hotel first. If you’re driving, be sure to locate where to park, some hotels do not have onsite parking; if you’re flying in, arrange for an Uber or Lyft for transportation. There are also so many great local restaurants to choose from as well, most can get very busy, so I’d recommend making a reservation.

Explore Downtown

There are so many gorgeous sites in Charleston, which is why there’s no shortage of picture-perfect moments. Head over to Waterfront Park, sit on the pier overlooking the Cooper River and see the Ravenell Bridge, or even stroll through Waterfront Park and see the iconic Pineapple Fountain.

Head down Bay Street and see the Instagram-worthy Rainbow Row (series of pastel-colored historic homes). Continue onto the Battery promenade and enjoy the historic mansions and oak-lined streets; please note that many of them are private residences. When you get to White Point Garden, you’ll find a peaceful retreat with a gorgeous view of the harbor.

What to Wear
If you’re visiting in the warmer months (mid/late-spring, summer, and early/mid fall) it’s best to pack on the lighter side with breezy pieces to help keep you cool in this southern heat and humidity! Sunglasses are definitely a must, and a light sweater/jacket is optional.

If you’re visiting in the cooler months (late fall, winter, and early spring) it’s best to pack on the heavier side, where layers are always a welcoming option, as we do get a chill from the ocean air!
